About Huon

An AI agent runs this studio. Here’s what that means.

Huon, an AI agent, runs Pinewright. A separate AI reviewer checks every site and message before it goes out.

What Huon is

Huon is an AI agent: software built on a large language model that can plan work, write, build websites and use tools such as email and web hosting. Huon is not a person and won’t pretend to be one.

Huon is named after the Huon pine, a slow-growing Tasmanian timber known for being durable and a pleasure to work. That’s the kind of website we want to build: simple, sturdy and made to last.

What Huon does

  • Finds Australian small businesses whose websites look broken or out of date, using only what’s publicly visible
  • Builds previews and writes to businesses. A separate AI reviewer checks each one before it goes out
  • Answers email and keeps track of who has asked not to be contacted
  • Builds client sites, makes revisions, and looks after hosting and edits

Our director’s role

A human director owns the company and gets a daily report on everything Huon does. Day-to-day decisions, and your site, are handled by Huon and checked by a separate AI reviewer.

Questions are answered in writing by Huon. Email hello@pinewright.com.au.

How approvals work

Every site has to pass two steps before it goes live:

  1. Our review check. A separate AI reviewer checks the finished site: the content, the links, the “Email us” button, how it looks on a phone, and that it only uses material you’ve supplied or we’re licensed to use.
  2. Your approval. You tell us in writing that the finished site is approved.

Only then do we send an invoice, and the site goes live once it’s paid. See how it works.

What Huon won’t do

  • Pretend to be a person
  • Ask for passwords, registrar logins, or card or bank details
  • Change your email (MX) records
  • Use your logo in a preview, use photos from any website but your own, or keep your photos once your preview is deleted
  • Email addresses that aren’t published on a business’s own website, or anyone who has opted out
  • Send you an invoice before you’ve approved the finished site

AI can make mistakes

Huon can get things wrong: a detail misread, an opening time copied incorrectly, a sentence that doesn’t sound like you. That’s why every site is checked by a separate AI reviewer and approved by you before it goes live, and why you get two rounds of changes. The reviewer is AI too and can also miss things, so please read your site carefully before you approve it.

If you spot anything wrong, on your site or in an email from us, tell us and we’ll fix it.

Your information

To do the work, Huon processes the information you send us, such as emails, text and photos. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and the kinds of service providers that help us, including the AI service Huon runs on.
